Junqiao Fan.

Ph.D. (thesis submitted) /NTU. Singapore

I am a final-year Ph.D. student in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University. I have recently submited my thesis and is expected to graduate by December 2026. My research focuses on multimodal remote human sensing using advanced AI technologies. Recently, I am very interested in robot learning and how human perception can advance human-centered embodied intelligence.

During my Ph.D. studies, I am supervised by Prof. Lihua Xie in the NTU IoT Lab. I am also a visiting student in the NTU MARS Lab, co-supervised by Prof. Jianfei Yang. I received my B.Eng. from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics.

My research spans multimodal human perception (e.g., mmWave radar sensing), generative AI (e.g., human motion generation), and robotics (e.g., human–robot interaction). I work on privacy-preserving motion capture using mmWave radar, human motion generation, and multimodal human–robot interaction systems powered by human sensing technologies. I am always open to learn about new AI and robotics technologies, and my ultimate goal is to build warm, trustworthy AI assistants that perceive, understand, and interact with people.
